Guess I'll ask here. I've had unlicensed win10 on my computer for 6months and just decided to buy an OEM key to activate it. When I tried to use the key it said the key was already used. So I contacted the seller and they were like did you try doing a fresh install. Now would that even make a difference?

If I do a backup, fresh install, activate key, then restore, would the key be active or would it restore from before I entered the key?

Well I think I can get my money back or a replacement key at worst.

But there shouldn't be any issue activating with an OEM key on an already running windows right? I just wanna make sure that's not some restriction on OEM keys.
