Stop using Windows.
Kill yourself, shit for brains.
Nah, I like an easy lifestlye
So i was on this binge where every waking moment I was learning command lines and tweaking with ubuntu, learning and all that.
then a wave of depression hit me and i just switched back to my windows 7 and started playing video games
It's not that I don't want to, but I don't have time to troubleshoot it and deal with the lack of important software or having to use clunky open source alternatives

windows 10 is fantastic, i like it and it works
why stop?
Why does Windows have to look like this Fisher Price bullshit?
At least there was a small window between Windows 95 and Windows 2000 when things looked reasonably tidy (but still ugly), but every other version has been horrendous in this respect.
Also the flat fad made it even worse, at least the ill-designed grey bevelled buttons of the late 90s did their job looking like actual buttons.

I have a big interest in video game development which kinda revolves around Windows, so I'm afraid it's not that easy.

Linux is boring by itself. Learn programming and become a developer and you'll achieve GNU/Enlightenment.

What programming language should I learn?

I don't see how targeting Windows necessarily ties you to that platform for development.
When Doom was developed Windows was completely unusable, so they used NeXT machines instead. Windows may have improved considerably since then, but it's still far from ideal.

Racket is the best "babby's first" I've seen, since it has a simple syntax, is well documented, has tons of "batteries included" features and still won't obscure important CS concepts.
Once you properly know programming the language just becomes a matter of notation, and you use whichever is right for the job.

Racket the fuck.
If you want him to learn directly a functional programming language, just do some Haskell.
For a beginner ? Python maybe.

Still using win 7, pirated, sp1, all updates disabled. I have no issues whatsoever. Although the botnet is there, it's minimal and non intrusive.
