/g/ I need some help guys
I need to be able to apply a band pass filter to a live audio signal using my Laptop so I can hear the filtered audio in real time.
I have Audacity, but I'm sure it only apples filters to recorded signals, which is no use for my application.
There's gotta be some free software out there.
I used puredata for something similar on a rpi or pandaboard.

Maybe not the optimal solution, but bandpass filter VST in a DAW would work.

I don't understand what you mean

vst is a format for synth/effects plugins. You need to load them into a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) to use them.
So you google "free bandpass vst", and select one of the thousands available. Then you download a free vst like Reaper. Find a noob tutorial on how to load the plugin in your DAW. Route your audio however you need it (more details here would help...live audio signal from where? Output to where?), and boom.
download a daw (fruity loops or some shit), add a bypass filter on a track, put audio source in this track as output

Actually yeah, any modern DAW will have a bandpass filter effect baked in. Don't worry about the vst thing.
thanks guys
