Whats the general consensus on Ryzen?
What does it beat Intel at (if anything)?
Where does it fall short?

My dad says Ryzen is good because Intel is run by the jews. Also they are made in America
Hope this helps Anon

lol
Destroys more expensive Intel chips in heavily multi threaded stuff, loses noticeably in single threaded/gaming. Bad gaming benchmarks may be partially due to some software issues, so performance may improve over time. Overclocked 1700 (non x) seems to be the best bang for your buck for ryzen 7.

Too early to say
Most benches are flawed in some way.
HPET
Power Options
Ram problems
BIOS problems
SMT causing performance degredation
Infinity fabric being a bottleneck so keeping communication on the same CCX as much as possible.
Perfroms better on 7 in many games.
Benches are all over the fucking place because of this.

>good processor
>needs polish
>motherboard quality is all over the place
>mini itx never
As an early adopter, I recommend waiting a month or two for more motherboards.
It's a good processor at a fair price.
Fucking powerhouse for the money in productivity.
Pretty decent in gaming.
Low power consumption.
Look we were all excited when we thought it would be on par with broadwell but it's competitive with current Intel offerings. Ryzen is fucking fantastic.

It is a game-changing CPU that forces Intel to do something besides minor spin/bump on "architecture x".
Ryzen is a welcome sight for those who want a workhorse CPU and platform without paying an arm and leg for it.
