You can still upgrade for free if you say that you use assistive technologies. Download the ISO from this link and burn it to a USB drive and install it. If your PC came with Windows 8 the activation key is embedded in the BIOS and it will automatically read it. If it came with 7 there should be a sticker on the bottom with the key. When you install it keep an eye out for a check box asking if you use assistive technologies (I don't think there is one in the ISO from this link but just in case).You don't have to actually upgrade from an existing install, it upgrades based on the old activation key. I did it a few days ago to a PC that had only Linux installed. Works like a charm.
