t. Physics major
>>
>>59437441
For poo.
>>
The average IQ of a CS major is probably not much more than 100

too many people jumping in thinking it's the money degree these days

all you have to do is get into college and declare a major, not that hard
>>
>>59437503
poos are smarter than whites though.
>>
My IQ is in the 75-80 range.
>>
>>59437441
Higher than any bullishit (((Identity Politics))) Studies major, but lower than almost any other part of STEM.

Not that there can't be smart CS majors, but there's a lot more dumbasses who don't get weeded out than in, e.g., engineering, physics, or math.

>tfw no degree
>tfw no formal schooling at all so getting into university now would be a convoluted process
>tfw can't get hired locally because no education and no insider contacts
>tfw I'm in a first world country doing pajeet-tier remote freelance webdev to scrape by
I'm increasingly tempted to jump through the hoops and get my Bachelor's after all. It's an intimidating concept, though, when I have no academic experience. Never been inside a school building in my life.

There are plenty of "access/foundation/mature" courses but most of them are aimed at giving manual workers some basic vocational quals. Either that or they start off with a year of ultra-basic "here's how to do algebra, here's how to turn on a computer" shit. I feel like they would be a compete waste of time.

There are a few other options but I need to make up my mind as to whether this is what I want to do. Do I realistically need a degree to get a position higher than code monkey? Can I have a fulfilling self-taught career by other means?
>>
>>59437441

not today
>>
>>59437441
depends on the actual degree and university
>>
CS student here, I'm surrounded by retards as far as I can tell.
>>
>>59439418
Bad news .... you are another.
>>
Earned my CS degree 10 years ago. Back then, most of the CS majors were pretty smart. But the physics majors - they were on a higher level.
>>
The altruistic tier is you either:
a) major in maths, minor in CS
b) major in physics, minor in EE/CE
>>
Fuck Einstein. He did nothing. Jon von neumann did much more but who has even heard of him?
>>
>>59439739
t "alternative genius"
>>
>>59439552
Im browsing /g/ how is that news?
>>
>>59439745
Von Neuman was incomprehensibly intelligent. He did a crazy amount of things. Einstein copied off of a Swedish guy but for some reason he's considered the smartest man of all time. I blame the Jews personally.
