I am planning to get into android app development so I have started with learning java and practicing. But I am currently wondering which languages I should learn further.

Namely I have been thinking about development of apps with online functions and what language is necessary for that. Is SQL something I should focus on next because of the necessity of databases?

java + sql (you can avoid sql if you use a nosql solution in your backend)

javascript + html5 + css -> phonegap, cordova (frameworks for creating crossplatform apps)

C# + xamarian (cross platform apps)

it really depends on what you want to do. if you just started app dev, stick to java.
