Yes, it's called AMD.

Nope, just get in line to suck intel off like everyone else, goy.
>>
>>59422298
Nah, even the snapoven 821 can't compete with modern x86 cores.

4 kryo cores still equals 2 modern intel/AMD cores.

Don't even get me started on cortex A53 ARM cores.

Are you implying something is wrong with the benchmarks I posted?
It isn't even Windows, Ryzen is just mediocre and a price cut from Intel makes it a no buy for 99% of people.

Thing is it is windows this time, parked cores, improper thread scheduler, ect. It's all fucked man.

Also why are you not recommending skylake instead? Kabylake has got to be one of the biggest disasters for intel yet.

Arm seem to killing it in where intel in low power HPC. Intel lost billions in "mobile cmputing" in the past few years trying to compete in that market

You are totally ignoring the fact that it gets blown the fuck out on every OS, it isn't a Windows problem, its a problem with AMD.

why shill? read AMD's Annual Report - oh wait you are a dumb /v/edditor who has no idea about any of these things.
>>
>>59422619
Other OS don't matter but you might be right about the problem being with ryzen processors themselves...

>"The Windows Scheduler Is Not To Blame

Ryzen's unique cache topology and simultaneous multi-threading (SMT, which is akin to Intel's Hyper-Threading) has led to reduced performance in many games, which AMD claimed can be fixed through updates that allow software to interact correctly with the new architecture. Many opine that the Windows scheduler is improperly assigning threads to physical and logical cores, butAMD contradicts that theory:"

>>59422688
Dude I don't care about the Windows scheduler.
Its an excuse and has no bearing on the argument unless you are being spoonfed AMD bullshit. Microsoft has support systems in place for hardware vendors that have been around for decades and if AMD wants to release unfinished products its on them.
>>
>>59422709
>Dude I don't care about the Windows scheduler.
I'm not saying you should, I was agreeing that it may not be an OS problem.

>Microsoft has support systems in place for hardware vendors that have been around for decades and if AMD wants to release unfinished products its on them.
Hmmm yeah it does seem like this is what's happening.

Hopefully not, AMD doesn't have the same luxury of releasing shit products nobody should ever buy, ie nintedo's gender switch 64. If it turns out that ryzen was an unfinished product then they will lose a lot of momentum zen has been giving them.
>>
>>59422140
Yes, thought it will probably take more than a decade. ARM is slowly but surely catching up. I believe russia is developing their own CPUs. The fastest supercomputer in the world right now uses a chinese sunway cpu instead of intel. IBMs power9 cpu's look promising.

By the time ARM matches sandy bridge, Knights hill will already be in full production. Guess who just gave intel a contract for at least 50K knights hill units?

It's sad to be honest, ARM manages to always be 4 steps behind everyone else somehow. Only reason phone manufacturers use their chips is because how dirt cheap they are else we would have seen core-m phones running x86 android eons ago.
>>
Intel is going to fail. Mark my words.

They can't beat Qualcomm and friends in cost per performance and energy efficiency. Intel is a huge bloated monstrosity and Intel will need to make enormous cuts to its workforce and get back into the ARM business if they want to survive.

>Intel is going to fail. Mark my words.
lol

>They can't beat Qualcomm and friends in cost per performance and energy efficiency.
Yeah that must be why servers are using ARM chips instead of knights landing xeons processors. Oh wait...
>>
>>59422983
They have been buying up other companies lately so I'm pretty sure they know their x86 server monopoly won't last forever.

I dunno man, Aurora is gonna give intel a ton of good PR for servers and supercomputers. ARM hasn't been implemented outside of niche applications for both supercomputers and servers especially because of how horrid their performance/watt is in real life.

>>59423162
Windows runs like dogshit om qualcum chips due to the massive performance penalty of running x86 code. It's not pretty. And again core-m has existed since forever but how can jewish phone manufacturers pass up $5 ARM SoCs that can still run Android well enough for snapchat and browsing facebook?

That's why I said it wouldn't be anytime soon. Also, I don't know what this thread is about, are we talking strictly desktop markets? Because in the mobile space atom is pathetic, and arm dominates. In the server space I can definitely see them losing market share to NAPLES and power pc, and as I said Chinas sunway has rapidly caught up. ARM may also be able to gain server market share in a few years, as a huge factor for server cpus is power efficiency. If were only talking about desktop then no, no ones going to challenge intel anytime soon since the whole ecosystem is based around x86.
>>
>>59423195
>ARM hasn't been implemented outside of niche applications for both supercomputers and servers especially because of how horrid their performance/watt is in real life.

I read an article saying that Microsoft is running Azure on a custom arm platform with plans for migrating production to ARM so we will see.

Look at their competition. The only way they can compete with Intel is by undercutting and accepting a lower profit. How exactly is Intel going to fail when it holds that kind of position?
