In the server space I can definitely see them losing market share to NAPLES and power pc, and as I said Chinas sunway has rapidly caught up. ARM may also be able to gain server market share in a few years, as a huge factor for server cpus is power efficiency. If were only talking about desktop then no, no ones going to challenge intel anytime soon since the whole ecosystem is based around x86.

I read an article saying that Microsoft is running Azure on a custom arm platform with plans for migrating production to ARM so we will see.
