Why is it that whenever I reboot my router then it goes very fast, but after a day or two then it goes back to being slow

Is it time to get a new router?

I have a dir615 or something that would shut down wifi every 6 hours for no reason, ddwrt fixed it and it's been running smooth for 6 months. Thing is a godsend

Its relatively easy to install, just make sure you do it on a pc connected on ethernet
