Never been on /g/ before but I don't know which board would be better. I have this shit Galaxy tab 2 that used to be on a data plan, but I just use it for work on WiFi now. It keeps saying that it hasn't detected a sim card (because there isn't one) and forces me to restart it. I can't find anything online about this and I was wondering if anyone could help me out here.

Any of them, run while you still can.
When does the message asking you to restart trigger? Can you do a factory reset and set it up without a SIM card inserted? Is the tablet itself locked to/branded with a carrier? Have you tried to/can you install a non-stock ROM on it?

I've factory reset it, but it still comes up. And it comes up like 2 days after I restart it. I haven't tried non stock ROM mainly because I don't have a computer, but I could borrow a friend's. Ill give that a try

Pick up an old SIM card off the sidewalk.
Stick it in. That will stop the complaints.
It doesn't have to be activated.

Now I know you're trolling.
you can also put it in flight mode, and should be able to turn wifi on while in flight mode
