spinrite is the best hdd recovery tool on the market and if you dont have 90$ to spend, you can always torrent it
usage is simple
1. burn the spinrite iso onto a cd
2. boot into it
3. select either recovery or maintenance
3. let it run to completion
there is lots of documentation online if want to know more about it

Interesting, thanks for sharing! I could use this on some older PC's that I got.
I wonder, would this work on a PCI-E SSD? It probably won't fail for many many years but I'm still curious, software looks kinda old too.

I've never tried it but it should work on a ssd, dont use any mode higher than 2 as it can wear out the ssd.
The last was spinrite update iirc was back in 2004 and was pretty much done at that point, still works like a charm 13 years later
