In 2012 everyone told me overclocking RAM is pointless.

Now it's 2017 and there are 3200MHz kits regularly sold and I still have 1333MHz DDR3 RAM.

Is it worth overclocking now?

I don't know. People thinking higher number = better/faster RAM. Again, it doesn't matter, definitely not on desktop. All RAM will be more or less equivalent, just buy from companies that give lifetime warranty.

The premium is not as hefty as 5 years ago anymore.

You can get 300-500MHz more for only a couple $ so most people think "why not". Maybe the lower frequency kits are sold as decoys or whatever to upsell people. I think this strategy has a name, can't remember it tho

The internet on my PC keeps disconnecting when I leave it on overnight to download stuff, and I can't quite figure out what's causing it. When I check it in the morning, there's just a question mark over the wifi symbol, and it doesn't work again until I disconnect and reconnect. It seems to happen specifically when I'm running my GPU passthrough VM, as that's what I've been trying to download stuff on (although it doesn't work in Linux either when this happens).
My motherboard is an asrock z270 killer, and I'm using the built-in wifi. Maybe that's could be causing it?
Also, my OS is Antergos if that helps.

The box it arrived with says I need to charge it for 12 hours before I first use it

I need to use it pretty soon as I've been without a phone for a while after mine broke

Do I actually need to charge it for 12 solid hours? If not how long?

Does the GTX1080 play ball with freesync monitors?

I need to buy a new monitor, and gsync monitors are all $100-200 more than their freesync equivalents.

Still unsure about if it's good or not.
Here's what at I have so far. The association class is Product Purchase, but the requirements also state that:

"Customers can also contact a Manager for any problems with any specific product: A customer can make requests about any product so each request will be sent through to the appropriate Manager for the product."

Would this mean the association class would be between Customer and Manager in some way?
These 4 classes are the only ones we can use.

usually, it would be interesting for the supermarket to keep track of customers, especially digital ones. This means customers doesn't have to provide address and payment info every time they want to shop, stuff like that.

A nested design is better.

This isn't anything major. It's an exercise question for a uni module.
The dotted line represents an association class- I think. The lecture material has been shit.
>>
>>59420381

The importance of each exercise is irrelevant.
You are in uni to learn, so when you come across something you are not able to answer, double down on it until you feel that you can.

Delete them, why would you keep album artwork? Or you can just create a folder, put all your artwork inside and create a blank file named .nomedia, it will force media related apps to not detect the files inside that folder.

I have a data frame that has a lot of factor and numeric variables and I'm trying to use fscaret package for feature selection.

I try to run the following code:

fsMod <- c("gbm", "treebag", "ridge", "lasso", "Boruta", "glm")
myFS<-fscaret(train.sleepDF, test.sleepDF, myTimeLimit = 40, preprocessData=TRUE, Used.funcRegPred = 'fsMod', with.labels=TRUE, supress.output=FALSE, no.cores=2)

And then finding the myFS$VarImp I get list()

I've read the annotation to the package and they also report on that issue, not giving a clear solution to it. There appears to be a troublesome method in the calculations, however, how do I identificate it?

Is there a way to solve the problem?

Is there a good free image host that can be used to host images for direct linking on a website? Got a friend set up on a pay-as-you-go service so naturally it's many times cheaper to host his images elsewhere, formerly on dropbox but since they reworked the Public folder none of his image links work anymore.

Alternatively if you know of a way to get the old functionality (have a folder full of images with the same URL pathing so you can just drop them into the folder in your computer and then copy/paste another image URL with the filename substituted) on Dropbox without needing to use the Public folder, that would work too. It can't be too complicated since he's only really mid-tier as far as tech literacy goes and I don't want to overwhelm him with something that I'm going to have to keep reteaching him every time he needs to upload a new image. If it's just a basic FTP or image upload prompt that's probably fine though.

I don't want people to see me at home the same way I don't want someone to track everything I do on my phone or computer.

I remember reading an article about vodaphone admitting that they dedicate servers and personal to spy on its users for the government of the country they are, else the gov would tell them to fuck fuck off from the country (if you want to make money on our country help us spying on our citizens).

Java for example does it under the hood, thats why it needs a garbage collector. C++ has no built in garbage collector which comes with the benefit of more flexibility and performance provided you put the work in to program it.

You use dynamic memory allocation when you can't say ahead of time how much you'll need.

Lets say a user is inputting some form of data, maybe transactions, which you want to store in a list (and probably process). Well, how big should you make your list?
>>
>>59422090
The meaning of dynamical allocation is all in the name. Allocation is simply reserving a memory location, as you already know. It is not different from the concept of allocating memory for a static variable. Dynamic means that this allocation is executed at runtime as opposed to static allocation in which it is executed at compile time. The compiler will not reserve any space for the memory you are allocating, that is, memory will be reserved only when the memory allocation instruction is executed by the processor. After you're done with the reserved memory locations, you need to free those locations.
Dynamic allocation is used whenever the data structures used by your algorithm are based on runtime parameters, or, in general, information that will only be available when you run the program, as opposed to when you compile the program.
For example, let's say that the user can input a number of integer values, and he can stop whenever he wants. You may store those integers in a static array, but a static array has fixed size therefore the user will always be able to exceed the array size by inputting a number of values equal to the array size plus one.
So you could resort to using a dynamic data structure, for example a linked list, in which you store integer values in dedicated location but only when you actually need that memory location. This way you have no upper bound on the data structure size (if we don't consider the case in which data overflows the whole memory segment) and you also only request memory space when it is actually needed. If you reserved an array of 100 integers and the user only inputs one value, 99% of the reserved memory is unutilized - instead, if you allocate input data on a list (which can be easily implemented by using elements composed of one integer and a pointer to the following element) you can just use one integer and one pointer to store the received data, plus you don't have any problem if the user inputs 101 values.

Do I buy Hitman season 1 on sale right now on Steam for $30 or do I just spend the $100 or so and replace the drive? I can't afford both and the sale ends in 6 days.

Why would a microwave have a webcam in the first place? Do they actually exist?

I've heard about the bluetooth fridges that have an android app, but never a microwave.

It will go back on sale. You know you have other games you have not finished.
Your HDD could fail.

well it would just need a microphone wouldnt it?

my parents have a samsung fridge that you can talk to and has a camera on it, so i'd surely imagine that there are microwaves that you can talk to

Can somebody help me figure out the home media streaming meme?

Since buying and renting blu rays is for old people and using my keyboard and mouse on my old Steam machine wannabe "looks autistic" I decided to do what all the normal people do now. But every method I try has distinct problems.

When I use Plex the video pauses for a couple of seconds every 30 seconds or so. No matter if I'm streaming 720p or 4k content. When I use a standard "cast to" type of things the quality is awful, like 2005 Youtube tier, regardless of settings. When I try the good old Universal Media Server it has a combination of all 3 problems depending on how it feels on any given day and half the files won't play at all.

I guess I'm just looking for in an in-depth guide to this type of shit.

I understand the battery light flashing orange can mean the battery aint good no more, but is there a possibility the charging system aint working either?

If you are using a Skylake or a Kaby Lake CPU download MSI Smart tools to add USB 3.0 drivers to the installer.

Install.
Use 3DP Network to add Network drivers.
Download Chrome trough internet explorer. >inb4 botnet
Download 3DP Chip to install drivers.

And then install whatever you want since at this point you are done reinstalling.

I forgot to mention, you need to use Rufus to make your USB bootable.

Download Rufus
https://rufus.akeo.ie/

Click the Disc icon and select the Windows 7 ISO.
Select the USB you will use if you have multiple USBs on.
On settings select NTFS and MBR CSM.
Disable quick format option.
Start it.

After all my research, I think a combination of me installing from USB and maybe also having an external connected caused confusion on where exactly the Linux system lives. I can't figure out the right command(s) to run or thing to do to fix it (heard of editing etc/default/grub and stuff like that, but I can't get it to open).

How come in some games my GPU stays fully OC'd but in others it can fluctuate and drop down as low as 1012mv (resulting in a loss of over 100MHz)? Gears of War 4 does this but Forza Horizon 3 does not, for instance. Yet both are pushing the GPU as hard as it can, since I am doing 1440p 144Hz.

So I want to fresh install Windows 10 on my PC. i've already backed up everything I want.

I've also lost the key I used. So my question is

1. Is there a software that I can use to find the key I used for my computer?

2. After getting the key, do I just download the version of Windows 10 I currently have installed on my PC from Microsoft's website, burn it onto a disc, and install it?
>>
>>59425446
why would you want to install windows 10?
>>

Because I already have it on my PC, I bought my friend's PC and he reset his computer. Upon starting it up though, it had a few issues. One of those being that the time does not adjust by itself at all, I always have to manually do it.

From what I read once, that's the entire point of a tech thing called optimus. It's when a laptop manufacturer adds both an integrated gpu and discrete one to a laptop, but routes everything through the integrated one. This means when it isn't necessary, the discrete one can be turned off. They say this saves power. No idea about heat but I imagine so.
