whats a good intuitive normie friendly OS to put on an old crappy netbook from 2009-ish?
got android on it right now, might just leave it like that but thought maybe you guys know something better
Ubuntu or Mint I guess

yeh i might try that, not sure if it can handle it
oh btw would it be possible to put chromebook OS on a netbook? last i remember it was a hassle to install on unsupported devices but that was a while ago
>>59413336
You mean chrome os you can put the open source chromium OS on it which is what chrome is built off of

lurked for a bit and it seems xubuntu is a better option
what do you say?

Not any of these guys but I tried xubuntu vs lubuntu on a shitty laptop and lubuntu was consistently better.
It seemed quicker, used less ram on fresh install and even when I added my favourite programs it coped just fine with them. Xubuntu occasionally stalled. This was about 4 years ago though, things may have changed.

xubuntu eats more resources

Check neverware.com, that cloudready thing could work.

read some reviews saying it runs a bit wonky. like certain licences are missing, codecs, and it's a hassle to get around that
desu i realised i'mm not even sure how to boot from USB on an android netbook. i think i might just reset it and install some office suite, call it a day
android is running quite smoothly on it after all
