Hey guys, I didn't see an ask/help thread and I figured this would be the best place to ask. if not, please redirect me!
So this guy's experience is identical to mine.

Ended up being a tag-along in a torrent. It's not causing any problems NOW, but from what others affected have reported, it goes downhill if left unchecked so I need to get rid of it. Problem is, ending the chromium tasks does nothing, they just pop right back up, and control-panel uninstall does nothing.
I've done my sleuthing but Every removal "how-to" guide ends up being more shady attemps to get me to download a removal tool. That's the kind of shit that caused this. Is there any actual guide to removing chromium that can be trusted?
THANK YOU!

Firefox and Linux/*BSD don't have these problems

firefox swallows up more memory than chrome does
that's a fact

chrome isn't the problem. The problem is that CHROMIUM plus added malware code was added as a ride-along to something else I downloaded. Chromium self-installed, and started self-installing extensions.

plus this isn't a thread asking everyone to convince me I need to switch, this was a request for how to removed a specific niusance off of my damn computer.

You could try the below script, just copy it into cmd or powershell.

I didn't mention, where it says Google, try various combos of what you think the software is called, such as Chromium, nigware, whatever
open task manager, right click said running instance of chromium and select open file location.
make note of location, reboot in safe mode, delete it. reboot into normal windows.
Just reinstall
