R was the first language I learnt and it's horrible. Only use it if the package you need isn't on Python.
R is shit, SAS is shit. Use Julia or Python

It's not bad at all, I used it for my master's work and gotta say the packages are pretty damn well documented and there's plenty of them. Having default arguments between non-optional arguments however is error prone as fuck.
Used to shill R like crazy when i was in college, but nowadays i just use scipy for everything.
