Do I need to learn C to learn C++ ?
Of course, it's like an addon
But it helps to learn as much as possible. Go for C first unless you need to do something in C++
C++ because it has OOP which is really important now a days.

OOP, what do you mean?

I see, so there is no shortcuts like other languages. I will start with C than, thank you.
No, go directly with C++. Don't listen to the people here you'll get memed on hard

object oriented programming
seriously mate try stack overflow they already have sticky threads for stuff like that

you can't expect people to not abuse inexperienced people who want to get into programming
>>59403013
Let me guess, you use Windows?
>>59402749
no if you want to learn c++ learn c++ and be sure that its the at least c++11.
Do not listen to people who tell you that C++ is a c with classes because its completely different language.

it does not matter what os he is using
>>59402749
Not at all.
No, you don't need to learn C first. But, C is arguably more valuable to know than C++, so why not learn both?
>>59402749
No. You have to learn a and b first, after you can start c.
>>59402749
No. Full stop.

another thread that has nothing to do with technology at all.
yay.
>>59402749
Absolutely not. C++ has the C standard library for compatibility reasons, not because you are supposed to write with it.
Learn C++ properly. You will also need to understand C eventually, but only later, when you interact with legacy code.
