KDE
Gnome

why do they all look so ugly?

literally looks like some cheap win7 theme from 2010
>>
>>59401869
no I'm right actually

all you need is a good WM and a couple of additional add ons, everything else can be configured in rc files. It WOULD be nice if you could get everything done with a good GUI, but they just don't exist
>>
>>59401809

Theres your problem. Nothing is hard, you are just not smart enought.
>>
>>59401906
Most of them are great desu. You have a great deal of control over how they look/behave.

I've grown partial to GNOME lately it's actually surprising to me but it's nice. But I enjoy a lot of them, I actually have several installed and riced to my liking. I tend to just choose one based on my mood. I'm not really married to one or anything you know. It's nice to switch it up.

You don't need to do a whole new installation to try a DE. You can install all of them on your current install if you want. You can switch between them from your login screen. In case you weren't aware.
>>
>>59402277
I know, but I'm thinking of permanent shit

installing and uninstalling leaves behind heaps of junk

not enough customers. Linux marketshare is too small. But it's getting better, most indie games are cross platform and some AAA studios also began releasing their new games on linux

Arch. If you don't want to configure it from scratch : Antergos (which is basically an Arch installer). This is a rolling-release, so you won't have to update your OS each 6 months or so, you'll be constantly up to date, and you can benefit from AUR.

Just use WSUS Offline Update and then install the rest with the regular update gui. Once you install the update that updates the updater, everything is smooth sailing.
