Local store didn't have an H110i in stock, so I put my FX-8320 stock cooler on my 1700X in the Crosshair VI.
It was a VERY tight fit compared to an AM3 socket, but it does actually fit. No thermal compound under it yet, so that <0.1mm might make it not fit, but looks like this is going to work.
I first tried it with the lever on the outside of the board, and I couldn't move the lever more than 90', but I turned it around and it went over with a bit more resistance than I remembered.
here's the chip afterwards.

The cooler can handle an FX chip at 1.4v, so it should easily cope with a Ryzen chip, as long as I'm not overclocking.

>only 6 chokes
disgusting, why would anyone buy that crap?

It has 12. The others are around the other side.
10 for vCore
2 for memory.

Actually no, sorry, it's a 12-phase with 2 extra phases for memory.
I've got it running 3200MHz 14-14-14-34 G.Skill RAM, though only running 2133 CL15 atm.

The thing is rather tough to attach even on my FM2 board, so the resitance is probably normal. If the board has a metal baclplate resting straight against the PCB like mine does, it is probably fine. Glad for the PGA socket.
