AsiaBSDCon just ended. Anyone go?
could't extract a tar.xz file with tar xJvf.
Had to use "xzcat file.tar.xz | tar xvf"
What's up with that?
I accident my left my server idling on #baot and left for spring break
Whoops
Long-time linux user (5y of Debian & friends), looking to make the switch to OpenBSD soon. I've done a couple of dry runs in a VM, and also went over my hardware for compatibility -- everything looks good so far. Apparently my Thinkpad was a good choice as far as drivers go.
Anything I should be aware of before I embark? In particular, one anon in another thread mentioned that the -releases don't get binary updates, meaning I will need to compile any patched/new software I want. This doesn't seem like a big deal (cf Debian Stable/Testing), but are there any experienced users who can advise if -current is worthwhile for a newcomer?

OpenBSD 6.1 will have binary updates for the base system and packages, so it'll be a lot more like what you're used to.
Check the FAQ for introductory stuff.
