Worth it? It means going with the Broadwell-E processor and X99 chipset as those support it.

I don't care about rysen, a good chip is a good chip I dont need the "latest and greatest" I need really fucking fast.

Most probably not worth it. Almost no consumer workload is going to tax your ram that heavily. I don't even see the ram being hit that hard on our database nodes and we're serving hundreds of thousands of requests per second.

Thanks, thats the best answer I've got so far without hearing hur get rysen lol.

Time to re-work that newegg wishlist for the third time, at least I'll be saving a whole lot of cash not using the x99 chipset.

7-zip is literally the only program the average person is going to run where quad channel RAM will have an impact, but you will possibly get up to 30% improvement there. So if you compress files all day long it might work out. (assuming your storage media isn't the bottleneck)
