It's so difficult, not even humans can do it and are shown challenges most of the time.

No, Google is simply lying. They want you to add their new scripts which gives them even more possibilities to spy on every action your users do to build up a profile. And the CAPTCHAs are used to train their AI. You will never see less of them. Or you might in the beginning, so that the new system sees widespread adoption. But once it has been fairly well adopted, standard CAPTCHAs will return and annoy your users even more.

When I try to upload an image to 4chan, Firefox uses a gtk file browser that lists my images alphabetically. This means I have to scroll through several dozen pictures before getting to my sub folders. It takes forever to upload an image on 4chan with Firefox.
