I have the program downloaded on my computer. I've probably paid for what the program used to cost twice already. I'm assuming when you start up the program it sends something to adobes server that checks if your a member and current on your payments. I know there has to be at least one person here who's done this shit. I will paypal you $10 bucks for a quick answer srs.

Maybe it's too late, but you can install it in a virtual machine and disable the ethernet port in the vm and then it's yours until the equipment dies.
>>
>>59377421
Not op but every photoshop torrent has a virus in it now, ever since thy took down kickasstorrent, EVERY SINGLE FUKING photoshop torrent has a bitcoin bot in it or some other virus, the original file is 1.4gb or 1.5gb but good luck finding it if u ddnt have the torrent downloaded b4

Mine has been acting weird lately, super slow and unresponsive at times. Lightroom is even worse, freezing and showing a blank screen from time to time. I'm using a Xeon 1231v3 with 32 gigs of RAM and it ran great in the past, so unless they added an indecent amount of bloat I'm afraid I might have a virus/miner running. Any ideas on how to stop or remove that shit?

I downloaded it recently but haven't had the time to use it much, although so far it's much faster and smoother than Photoshop on my iMac, then again it also doesn't have decades of bloat integrated into it.
If OP wants a Photoshop alternative then Afinity is quickly looking to be the closest real competitor. I'll have to experiment with their version of content-aware fill to see if I can make use of it though.

Dumbest Idea Ever: The Post
>>
>>59377249
>I've probably paid for what the program used to cost twice already
Yeah, you probably haven't. The yearly subscription just about lines up with what the programs used to cost, and you get the yearly version upgrades included in your subscription.
It used to be that you bought a license for one version of a given program. E.g. you got a Photoshop CS5 license, and sure it would last you a lifetime but if you wanted to upgrade to CS6 you'd be buying a new license.

The subscription based model is a double edged sword, really. On the one hand, 10-20 bucks a month makes it easier for mortals and hobbyists to swallow, but on the other hand you'll be paying for each version upgrade if you want to keep your license going as opposed to simply not replacing an older license with a new one, thus paying more in the long run in this case.

Adobe applications have time bombs: they stop working after a certain time, after which the user must pay to extend the time.

Adobe nonfree software may halt all other work and freeze a computer to perform a license check, at a random time every 30 days.

Adobe's software is malware.

Malware means software designed to function in ways that mistreat or harm the user.

They are actually quite good and easily sufficient for most editing.

But if you don't like them, there's still Corel PSP, Paint tool Sai and so on, which also have a WAY lower price tag than Adobe's PS.
>>
>>59379601
> The yearly subscription just about lines up with what the programs used to cost, and you get the yearly version upgrades included in your subscription.
Adobe MASSIVELY increased its revenue after going with SaaS (software as a service).

So no, they don't. They cost massively more.

Part of this was you can't use / continue to use an older version of PS that is fine, part is that it just costs more.
