Hello there, I am in possession of following machine:
- NVIDIA Geforce GTS 250
- AMD Athlon II X4 630 Processor 2.80Ghz
- 8GB idk specifics memory
This is built quite a some time ago, like 10 maybe years, i was still in study at time and played a lot of video games.
Yesterday i downloaded The secret world and took quite a liking to its atmosphere but game framerate is plain horrible, honestly it is on verge of torture - even on averaged 1 quality mark (or even at 0).
I want to renew this configuration to be able to smoothly run TSW on medium to high settings with as little buck as possible.
pic random
For example, would changing video to ASUS GeForce GT 730, GT730-2GD5-BRK be enough to solve the issue?
Just get a new gpu. It all depends on your budget and your expectations. But yes, even if I don't know TSW, the gts 250 is clearly the culprit here. GT 730 is not a good choice either.
>GT 730 is not a good choice either.
What will be a good choice then? :s
Are there any good dated cards under 100$?
TSW is a game going back to 2012, so many years have passed, shouldnt there be cheap cards easily running it on high?

730 is garbage

Yeah, i get that from previous poster. What will be the correct answer?
The Secret World is a MMORPG, which tend to be more CPU-intensive. Upgrading your GPU will improve performance from that sack of shit, but you're still going to be limited by that Athlon II.

According to some sites, the recommended card is a 560ti or an HD7850.
I think you should be OK with an RX460, or a 360 if you wanna save some more.

There are a lot of graphic cards, from low end to high end. You could get a rx 470 for instance, which is a great value card. And try to overclock a bit your Athlon

what about 1050ti?

If you only play TSW, 1050ti will provide you a sufficient experience. But I always recommend paying a bit more to get a card that will run everything fine for the next 3 years
You should also take a look at some benchmarks videos on youtube between these two
