That's nice to hear. I always thought it was looked down upon by public opinion because of how quick it was fazed out by 7. It's served me well over the years, so I never quite figured what the problem was.

My personal problem is that all my friends and family are running either Windows 10 or Windows 8 on moderate gaming machines, and I'm still running two computers built in 2007 and 2009.

Nothing wrong with that. I remember back when Vista was released I was one of the first to jump on the train. I bought a new computer with new everything and Vista pre installed. A week later I replaced it with XP. It was just broken as fuck in the beginning. When Windows 7 was released I waited for some reviews and then decided to get it. To me it really was a worthy successor to XP. At some point I fucked up my Windows 7 and didn't have any installation medium to fix it but I was in desperate need of a working computer. The only Windows DVD I had left was Vista. I installed it and didn't go back to 7 for over a year because there was just no reason to go through the whole process of installing an OS and drivers again. Vista had become stable as hell at this point. Still run it on my Thinkpad T400. My desktop is running Ubuntu now but it's good to have a working Windows machine every now and then. Especially when Linux fucks up NTFS formatting on my USB stick again. This shit never works.

I typically use GParted. It works with ANY file system except NTFS. Always some crazy errors. Sometimes it displays as completely normal on Ubuntu and I can even put files on it but when I plug it into a Windows machine I get messages like "No permission to view this folder". Then other times it formats but creates a partition that's only half the size of the actual USB stick. In both cases I have to format it in Windows to get it working again. I don't really care desu. I don't format my shit frequently enough to care. I used to when I was a filthy little distro hopper but these days are over. I have settled.
