JavaScript was a mistake
>>59356672
Never happened to me.
Btw, is there anyway to hide my adblock? Speciallty from websites with the ad bee
>>59356748
why so
>>59356672
>>59356871
>using extensions to block ads instead of using hosts
>>59356871
>not supporting sites you actually visit and use
Why be a hypocrite?
>>59356948
im dum i dunno how to
>>59356967
disabling ublock is a bit of a hassle to me
>>59356871
>why so
literally everything that makes the internet shit is implemented in js
>>59356995
You can just whitelist sites. It takes two clicks. I try to whitelist all sites that I acutally find useful. If that's their source of income, then fuck it let them display ads. As long as they're not intrusive and spammy I'm fine with it. For the other 99% of web though, fuck ads.
>>59356948
I use hosts, but still need to config my browser. Is there the ultimate hosts somewhere?
>>59356967
Websites that "support themselves" by exposing me to malware, propaganda and spying are not entitled to me playing along.
I'll support them when they figure out how to survive without victimizing their audience.

>using hosts to block anything when iptables exist
>>59356948
>he thinks hosts alone are enough to block everything
there is shit coming from the same domain as the site itself half the time too, anon. And I use blockers to also just hide generally annoying stupid content on sites, like that stupid rms sticky on this board
>>59357045
It's dangerous to go alone, have this
>>59357147
Social media buttons do track online browsing activities on every site that has them.
>>59357236
What data are you afraid they will get?
>>59357251
I don't want them to steal my memes.
>>59357251
I just don't like being tracked, I find it weird and unsettling. I get it sounds irrational, but it doesn't hurt anyone by blocking it. I mean, if conspiracy theorists are right that companies do sell your personal info for malicious purposes, I would say "wow I wish I blocked that earlier", and if it turns out they aren't, it's no harm on my part.
My main point was that it isn't a conspiracy that they track you and collect personal info.

All of it.

It hurts the people that run the page that you find useful. They do track your data but it's useless data. Unless it's some sort of exploit (like some flash stupidity), you don't need to worry.

>you don't need to worry.
leave and never come back
