Sup guise. I know /g/ is not my personal tech support but I want to know if someone has this problem too.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 tablet. It has a 4:3 aspect ratio screen. I can't use it in landscape mode because apps look like shit with serious scaling issues.
It has even more issues with Samsung's shitty half baked split mode. I regret buying this tablet, but the S pen feature is alright tho.
This is how normiebook looks in landscape mode it has half the info cropped down in an eternal loading wheel in the right
This is how it looks in my Moto G using split screen with 7.1.1. No problems at all. I'm using normiebook as an example. It happens with almost every app.

Here's my old-ass Galaxy Tab 4 from 2013.
In your case I suggest installing some kind of custom ROM and changing the DPI or something.

Do you need to root the device again if you change the ROM?

Yes, but you can easily root via TWRP anyways if you install an AOSP ROM. I just use stock on mine since I don't give a fuck.

Yeah 16:10 seems to be the best way to use Android

I can't find a good ROM for my device. XDA roms look sketchy I don't want to screw the s-pen ;_;

I've never had troubles with XDA ROMs, but yeah the S-Pen probably won't work in ROMs other than Samsung's and the mods of them.
