What do you use to read your shitty shonen weeb comics? Picked this up recently and tricked it out

>Amazon Fire HD 8" 6th Gen, $80
>matte screen "protector"
>rooted, debloated, most amazon services disabled, all access to amazon servers disabled

I tried out the e-ink meme a few years ago but I can't help but I need my color.

8" is the perfect size, not too big and not too small. Same goes for 8" tablet screens.

Cartoons are for children.

The screen ratio isn't good for comics
>>
>>59352350
A screen ration "good for comics" doesn't exist. If it does, it may be good for comics but bad for manga or good for comics but bad for books etc. etc.

It's a losing battle.

Yeah i use a fire too. I got a 7 inch, 5th gen I think. They sent out an update and I haven't been able to root it yet. The fire ecosystem is so damn annoying though, I'm getting a regular tablet next time.

>the fire ecosystem is so damn annoying though

Why do you say that? I was thinking about getting one
>>
>>59352708
Well the UI is very frustrating and the appstore is really sparse. Usually have to sideload apps because the ones on Amazon are rarely updated...the Score for example, is missing a lot of features but they abandoned the app because they felt the fire was a dead platform

Idk. The amazon / kindle integration is nice if you buy books but it seems slow to load and sometimes books randomly disappear from my library.... I prefer to sideload those also

A cheap chink android 4:3 screen tablet that they sold at walmart in 2012 black friday. Lepan S is the brand and model. Runs jellybean and has an SD slot so works pretty good.
>>
I have an LG G Pad that is running like ass now did some maintenance on it and it's still ass and slow.

I'm in the market for a new tablet now. My tablet history as been a Galaxy Note 12 (Too big) enjoyed doodling on it. That G Pad which I thought was a good size for a lot of things it was a 7' I believe?

I just need this new tablet to be able to hold weeb shit like anime and manga. Shows, streaming and internet surfing. I'm currently researching the ones that already are posted but any more recommendations would be cool. No particular budget as long as it's good.

always wonder how so many people can stand japanese writing. I mean I read some mangas as a kid but now I can't do it. characters just behave against every single one of their traits to make the plot work out when it's needed. logic/rules gets thrown over board faster than in some trash superhero comicbook. it's just objectively bad writing.

anyway, old regular kindle is what I use.

I use a kobo aura one. The screen is nice, but the UI is sub par and the digitizer (or the code that handles it) is lousy.
>>
>>59355369
There's a lot of manga. You could say the same about Western comics, if you only read a few as a kid.
>>
Chuwi hi13 certainly impressive
>>
>>59353348
My standard Kobo H2O can read zipped images just fine, you just have to rename the ending to .cbz

You can change the color of leds? Neat.

>I have a PRS-T1. I know your pain bro.
It isn't like I read a lot so I can't justify buying a kindle paperwhite.
>>
>>59352270
Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro. I hold it one-handed; 13.3" is great for comics.
>>
>>59355575
I read a lot but I didn't expect it to last this long. Plastic and buttons are a little worn but the fucking battery just doesn't die. I still get a month with regular reading and I can't bring myself to buy something new just because.
>>
>>59355391
I agree. western comics are just as bad.

not trying to be a cunt here. friends recommended what they considered great manga and I tried it but didn't like it. last thing I tried to read was attack on titan and although the concept seemed very interesting, the execution was crap. just not my thing I guess.

Why there are no e-readers with 7 inch displays and without huuuuuuuuuge ugly bezels?

Yeah, if you move out of the general shounen stuff you will find more believable characters.

kobo glo hd

love the bezels for two reasons:

- Can hold them comfy
- I feel like I'm sticking it to the pathologically anti-bezel crowd (worst people around)

Some animu and mango is alright but you don't ask 4chan for recommendations. Reasoning:

- They won't tell you anyway. They call it "spoonfeeding" while snickering like little retards and high fiving each other. They genuinely believe you should be initiated into the fandom before you're worthy of being spoken to.
- Asking a weeb for anime recommendations is like asking a dog fucker what his favorite breed of dog is. Sure, he's gonna respond, but his reasoning is a lot different than yours and shouldn't be taken into consideration.

/g/ is the most pathetic board on 4chan by far. This is where people come to feel all giddy inside over what they bought, it's basically as close to reddit as 4chan gets.

Nook HD+ on the last CM, can't be bothered to go look for lineage roms just yet. It's got a 8.9 inch 1920 by 1280 screen. The dual core omap and 1 GB ram is pretty anemic, but plenty for running Tachiyomi for following and downloading manga, and then using Perfect Viewer for Auto side by side, a feature the former lacks unfortunately.
