Is Ryzen a meme?
>>59348874
Everything is a meme when you think about it.
redpill me on 2017 gpus and cpus
I've been out of the game for a while

AMD keeps trying but is still 'meh'
Just get an intel 7700k and a nvidjew 1070
>>59348919
Intel shill detected
Get an 1800x and wait for amd to release vega

Yes? No? Maybe?

AMD launched Ryzen to compete on HEDT market with Intel for half the price, but everyone mistook it as a gayming CPU
>>59348946
this desu
but don't play games because you'll be disappointed
>>59349033
>but everyone mistook it as a gayming CPU
AMD's marketing material was exclusively about video games
>>59349157
>Cinebench
>Blender
>Handbrake
>gayming
Pick one.
The only slide they showed was a R7 1700 against a 770K in 4K, where Ryzen can actually compete.
>>59349173
>in 4K, where Ryzen can actually compete
>in 4K, where the CPU is bottlenecked to the point that most high-end CPUs appear to be roughly equal
ftfy
>>59349187
Keep telling yourself that.
>>59348893
If you're a manchild and all you will do is play gaymes, buy the 7700K. Otherwise, buy the 1700 or 1700X, you will get lower average FPS but games run really smooth, it could also improve when Windows and UEFI updates are released.
For GPUs, if you're okay with 1080p 60Hz, buy a 1060 or RX 480, depending on which one is cheaper. If you're into meme resolutions, buy a 1080 or 1080 Ti. You could also wait for Vega, but all we know are currytech """"leaks"""" so idk.

>AMDs new CPU architecture is 95% as fast as Intels flagship in singlethreaded workloads and faster in multithreaded workloads
>Nvidia still hasn't made a DX12 Optimized GPU
>AMD GPUs are still vaporware, buy Nvidia until AMD releases GPUs.
>AMDs CPU is having teething issues and needs a Linux Kernel update and a Windows update to really open up and fly.

You posted benchmark where 1800X still loses to 7700K in some cases and even when it wins, it has terrible FPS/$ ratio.
Nick says X299 OC Formula is in the works.
>>59349427
Shifting goalposts, I see.
Nobody is telling you to buy a $500 CPU if all you do is gaming. You said that
>CPU is bottlenecked to the point that most high-end CPUs appear to be roughly equal
and you're wrong.
>>59348893
buy ayymd and dont watch benchmarks
>>59349157
>exclusively
You use that word, but I don't think you know what it means
