Help me /g/, for the love of god

Sup, I know I'll be ripped to shreds here (again) but honestly I'm beyond casual here but I really, really need a laptop.

Basically I do a shit tonne of video editing and media work , so I need a laptop that's at least 15" and has at least 8gb of ram (but is upgradeable), intel i5 minimum, and just generally not a piece of shit. I'm sorry I don't know more about computers but can anyone make suggestions? Looking online there's so much garbage that I dont know what to trust. Can anyone give me advice?

Btw I'm looking to spend MAXIMUM $1,000 but less would be great.
