==OFFICIAL ILLUMOS/OPENINDIANA THREAD==
Who here uses the last masterrace UNIX? OpenBSD is good for being on a BDFL model and absolutely autistic about code quality, but it seems much of the FOSS ecosystem in general has gone to "community" models and place delivering functionality fast over 'correct' coding paradigms.
Who doesn't want a turbo-autist like Bryan Cantrill making your OS great again?!

BigIron is still a thing for some companies. Once you're on BigIron, it's impossible to get off - it's basically a nightmare merry-go-round.
>>59336559
still better than the nigger-rigged shit x86 is.
>>59328984
SmartOS user here, running it on 20 servers or so. Best thing ever.

I'm not sure what that means, but ever since x86 started doing RAS there's basically no difference from a hardware standpoint, it's all about software.
Even ARM does RAS nowadays.
So I'm installing Open Indiana and now know why they call it Slowlaris.
The installation has been running for 40 minutes already and is only 65% done.
