Do you have an old memepad? Windows 7. Better battery life, if you use an SSD boot times aren't a big deal. On my X220 I wanted 8.1 but I admit 7 is what it's supposed to have.

Do you have a more modern desktop or laptop released in the last 3 years? 8.1. It's pretty snappy (excuse the word, I know it triggers some people) and honestly it has better current hardware support.
