Out of the two, I'd go with surna.me, but I'm a fan of domain name hacks in general, and .net is kind of lame with all the options these days.

But in general, I'd recommend getting a creative domain name, which is what I'm looking into doing now.

Here's a couple neat domain names that I've come up with but probably won't register. Feel free to steal:

port.al
aperture.science
for.science
gtf.ooo
btf.ooo
ree.ee
na.cl
lemon.party

All of these return dns lookup failed, but I've only actually checked the whois record for some, so it's possible that they're parked but just have nothing hosted on them. E.g. thi.cc is a valid domain, but someone parked it.
