Is it possible to have a seamless desktop/laptop experience?
Basically, I'm looking for an OS/Windows program like dropbox but for my whole system. If I change a wallpaper on my desktop that will be changed on my laptop when I start it up. If I start writing a .doc file on my laptop and save it I can continue writing it on my desktop.
Bonus points if I don't have to go through a 3rd party server. I'm talking browser history, extensions and some programs.
Is there anything like this?

Couldn't something that boots through the network work, the kind they usually have a schools and such?

I think you're talking about thin clients.

Not quite. Thin clients are just remote desktop. What he's talking about is having an account elsewhere but signing into it from a different computer. It would load all your settings and such from the host.
