Nah, this is one of the friendlier ones. They're going out of their way to avoid sounding too accusatory. This one's above-board.

The nasty ones are the ones that offer to "settle" with you for $x,000 to avoid a potential lawsuit. Especially when it's porn. They know it'll humiliate you to get your porn habits subpoena'd, so they're counting on being able to shake you down.

Anyway, note that the rightsholder here doesn't know who you are. They know your IP address*, and they know who owns your IP -- that is to say, they know your ISP. They send this letter to your ISP, and your ISP forwards a copy to you. Generally, your ISP will do dick-all about it, though you may want to be aware of their policy for repeat offenders just in case.

(*NOTE: Whether or not an IP address is considered Personally Identifying Information varies by jurisdiction. In other words, legal opinions vary as to whether your IP address can be used as a substitute for a proof of identity when bringing legal action. In the US, to the best of my knowledge, it is not; in Germany, it is.)

I torrent hentai games occasionally and older games that are stuck in legal rights hell because of convoluted agreemtns bentween 4 different and dead companies, no issues here as of yet.
