Open Source is by definition not secure compared to closed source *IF* you trust the closed source provider because everything is exposed. Since you *DON'T* trust the closed source provider then that its only value because you can only hope to find the problems. Therefore *BOTH* are insecure and what is more secure than the other is a tossup, a balance, depending on if you trust more the closed source provider or less.
