Any distributed OS is by virtue not safe because others know or will know it's structure and compromise points given enough time. If you want to be safe for real, you have to build your own OS and compile it from scratch. At the very least take some other OS, and make patches at the kernel level. Use that to communicate with other people online who use other OSes, but never distribute the OS you are using yourself.

The host-guest driver implements a shared memory buffer, similar to VMware Tools or VirtualBox Guest Additions, which allows features like shared files and clipboard between host and guest, and guest internet access.

It's multi-purpose and extendable (you can write modules for it to add new functionality)

An easy way to visualise it is: Guest writes data to shared buffer, sends command request via UART, host reads data from shared buffer, processes request, writes response data to shared buffer, returns command response via UART, guest reads back data from shared buffer, does its thing.
