Why the fuck do these companies just horde their money and not reinvest by creating new ideas or hiring more people?
What the fuck?
Do people think it's actually right that these companies hold Billions of dollars without re-investment? Don't they realise that inflation renders their money worthless?
Risk.
why take the risk and create new ideas, when one can just keep using what already works? Just about all major companies/corporations are at a point where none of them make the next big step in innovation because it's risky.
best to wait until the other guy tries something new and if it works, copy it and make it your own. Cellphones and the introduction of the iPhone is a good example. after that dropped, just about all the other phone companies followed suit.

Nothing to challenge their power, e.g wwII went from horses to nukes in 6 years

Well it doesn't much matter what you think about whether that's right or wrong, does it? You're not a shareholder. It's their money, not yours. Why should you get a say in what they do with it?

>they can drink all the clean water, but don't drink mine
They have all peaked and there isn't anything to take their place. Sad!

Intel has a massive R&D budget. Facebook and Microsoft are involved in tons of software research unrelated to their core products.

I think it's more related to your ignorance than fact. Most of them are involved in either R&D or diversification (Google Fibre for example). Your generation doesn't know about anything that isn't included in an Instagram post.

the more a company grows the larger the distance between idea and production
idea guys have to convince middle management to convince decision makers to actually do stuff
it's easier for big companies to just throw money at sartups
