How much does hard drive color/type matter?
Those green drives were not quiet or cool.
Just get a Blue. In 2017 your hard drive should only be used for storage.
Windows and programs go on an SSD.

I play computer games and you can't store many games on a SSD

Greens: Cheap and "cool and quiet"
Blues: cheap general use
Blacks: faster than blues but more spendy
Reds: made for 24/7 use, slower and more expensive than blacks

False. Windows goes into the trash.
those colors are out of date
These days blacks are pretty much just re-branded blues. Greens are larger capacity and less energy use, but noticeably slower.

Learn to manage your storage or buy a bigger SSD.

>either somehow make it so modern games don't take 30+gb each or spend orders of magnitude more money
Great advice
Green = very energy friendly and only made out of natural ingredients
Blue = High computing performance, uses liquid cooling
Red = it gets very hot because it spins so fast. You wont get a faster HDD.
Black = Very dangerous, uses locally created miniature black holes to store data. First developed at CERN 10 years ago.
