you got that right
>>59268247
Does it work as well on windows?
>>59268247
no.
windows is never recommended.
>>59268247
can you give a quick rundown on that crap? Never heard of it, and to lazy to look or read
>>59268247
I tested it on windows and the port is still somewhat wip. On windows you need to download ffmpeg and put the binaries in the indicated folder. For me everything worked except screen recording which clearly still only works with X. On linux it just works of course.
Well then since so many don't use it what do you guys use ?

It's an open source video editor from the people of KDE.

I don't edit videos that much but it has worked fine for me. Remember it's just a video editor, for other kind of things you may need something like natron of blender (assuming you're using linux or that you're not interested into paying for or pirating adobe tools).

Thank you Mr. Satan looks like a good tool, will try it out
I just made this thread because I was wondering what were some decent video editors that are free for windows.

The windows version of Kdenlive is pretty recent so i cannot tell you with certainty if it'll just work but pretty sure in the future it'll be a great option for linux users that wants an open source video editor with great capabilities. I used to use camtasia before migrating to linux and while most linux video editors are not very good kdenlive was the exception. The other open source ones are pretty basic or buggy or the gui is very confising but i found kdenlive very easy to use and with a lot of functionality. Personally i didn't found an open source windows editor that is good (something i don't need to pirate) so that's another reason why i started to like linux more (blender is on windows and i think it can be used as a video editor but i haven't tried).
As a note, if someone need a proprietary professional editor on linux there's lightworks:
