Hey guys

When should I consider getting an AMP or DAC?
I have an Aorus gaming 7 Motherboard and it says it has an on-board Amp.I have an Audio technica ath-m50x as my headphone.

The volume is literally blasting my eardrums even at 5% system sound and I'm hearing a very minute hissing/static when there's nothing playing in the background.

7700K, 5820K or R7-1700?
They're all around the same price here.

I'm a fan of overclocking so I don't really like the 1700 in that sense but it's got much better multicore performance.

The [email protected] 6C/4.7 1C I've got right now scores ~1015, and that takes a 7700K 5GHz to beat so I don't know if such a small upgrade is going to be satisfying.

Apart from playing CS (in which I already get a decent framerate of around 230-250 but am still bottlenecked by the CPU as the fps pretty much scales linearly from 2.67 to 4.5GHz.) my workloads are mostly parallel, including x265 rendering and raytracing.

I have a 360mm clc so cooling isn't a problem and I'll probably get the RX580 or Vega later on.

They're not as impressive as you might think. They can't do very much yet, and they won't do magic even when they're better developed. A qbit is basically able to hold a 1 and zero at the same time, and be put through logic gates that impact it and produce a likely result. When you use multiple qbits together, their combined ability to hold information increases exponentially, which is useful in completing certain types of problems with less resources

Absolutely not. I think your power source has reached its current limit and it's dropping voltage to compensate. You might burn it if you keep it plugged.

Typical logical voltage levels are 1.8V, 3.3V and 5V. If CPU voltages aren't any of those, there's something wrong.

Yes, when installing pm2 initially, it configured the package installation to not apply updates with possible breaking changes in the future, as far as I know.

In a project, I could go and modify the package.json file, but I don't know what the equivalent thing for global packages would be.

I "updated" it now by (re)installing pm2 again

I don't understand how signed chars can go from -128 to +127.
Say I have only 3 bits and the first is for the sign:

+00 ->+0
+01 ->+1
+10 ->+2
+11 ->+3.

Then since 0 is already taken among positive values, I have one more space for negatives:

-01 ->-1
-10 ->-2
-11 ->-3
-?? ->-4

Can someone fix this example for 3 signed bits?
I don't really know how It works, I'm just guessing.

What is the purpose of Nvidia's Titan graphics cards, if 1080/1080Ti is stronger and cheaper?
When the first Titan came out, it was an "OMG SUPER CARD FOR THE RIDICULOUS PRICE OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS!", and when the 1080 came out it was an "OMG a card better than everything that has come before, only cheaper!". Now I watched the 1080Ti announcement and heard the presenter say just how better it is from the Titan. I checked Nvidia's website and the listen Titan costs like 1.2k$.
So... what's the purpose of this model?

Well ya see, Norm, it’s like this… A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That’s why you always feel smarter after a few beers.
>>
>>59272915
>>59273045
okay I understand now, you're using the style with greasemonkey.
Now greasemonkey just adds it to the page and make it act like normal page css.
So some selectors won't work because the pages own style rules have a higher specificity as compared to when using stylish.
If you'd have used stylish it would have just worked.

so add >>59272957 with rgb(147,36,46) instead of #ffffff in your 4chanx settings -> advanced -> custom css box.
adding body before the classname makes it higher specificity than just the class name and should overwrite the pages color.
>>
>>59273045
>>59273316
oh, or you can just change the userscript and add the body part directly before the quoteLink, quotelink and deadlink classes if you can tinker with it.

You can probably find a program that can search for files by there md5 hash. Every file on earth has it's own unique file hash, it's like a digital fingerprint that only the file and its copies will have (regardless of if they are renamed). I would look for that, then find the hash of the picture you want to find with a checksum/hash generator.

water on its own doesnt do shit, but it conducts electricity. electricity running through the motherboard can then go places it shouldnt and burn out things it isn't supposed to touch and which aren't designed for that amount of current

so yes, electronics can be seriously damaged if a small amount of water gets into the wrong place and you turn it on before first drying it

Does anyone know what program I'm talking about? Or at least want to point me in the right direction of a program that does something similar? Basically I want to take this static image and make it so she's dancing but without being the original artist or one who can redraw it.

Maybe the bios fucked something up with the speeds? I have actually never messed around with ram in bios so I'm lost there, will probably check it soon, thanks anon.

But something to add, I took out one of the hdds in that pc that was pretty much empty and I was able to install 8.1 with the usb image with no issue and I'm currently posting from there.
That made me believe it was a hardware issue but it fully booted into windows earlier for a bit and all the results for system exception and acpi show driver issues, also, during the loop, one of the boots will randomly look visually glitchy with artifacts and other gpu driver looking stuff.

So do water coolers like pic relate required more maintenance than your typical air cooler?
>>

they require 0 maintenance, but supposedly the pumps have a lifespan of a few years so youll have to replace it eventually whereas air coolers don't really ever die

its basically just the console side of an OS where you enter commands manually by typing them out (kind of like DOS). It's the non-GUI side of an OS that is running in the background above the kernel. any time you run an executable in many OS's it runs through the shell underneath (or outside, hence the name shell) the GUI. The shell is a bare bones command console basically. Any time you run a batch file on Windows PC, you will briefly see the command prompt shell, although post Windows 2000 Windows variants have all run on the Windows NT 5.0 kernel as opposed to all earlier versions running on the DOS 6.0 kernel (or DOS 5.0 for pre-Windows 3.) OSX runs on a modified Unix kernel I believe, while iOS and Android both run on different Linux Kernels.

The way certificates work is the store information unique to you in an encrypted browser file, it has many unique factors that label it as you, any time you go to any site with security (any site you log in to or have an account with) the website will intitiate a security protocol handshake where it will look at your certificate and reference it against a copy of the same certificate that it keeps matching your information, and if they are the same, the site will let you proceed as normal. Depending on what kind of certificate it is, things like changing you MAC and IP (which tends to happen when you change ISP's) could fuck up the certifacte handshake. Try clearing all of your browser cache and cookies. Cookies are kind of similar, they aren't security so much, but they remember who you are when you come back to the website and things like what products you like, or what pages you have viewed.

No and yes, if you have two different wifi adapters you could probably leverage it for torrenting because the packets come individually out of order, but there is no way to splice packets through two seperate wifi connections. It can be done with hard wired broadband with specialized services (Linus has one at his house for dual 50Mbps) but you can not do it with two separate wifi connections. Since the two wifi data streams can't speak communicate with each other it wouldn't be possible for them to coordinate packet transferals.

Again, Intel Optane with HDD's will outpace an all SSD solution:
"For Dell’s Kannar, Optane will make it feasible to put traditional hard drives into laptops or desktops, especially if you are on a budget.

A PC with a hard drive as primary storage and an Optane cache could load the OS and applications faster than an all-SSD system, Kannar said. The trick is that Optane—which is closer to the CPU—would need to hold images of the OS and key applications.

'It’s cheaper to do that in some cases than having an all-SSD system,' Kannar said.

But, of course, having Optane alongside SSD as primary storage will be much faster, but more expensive."

I would say it's either a faulty RAM stick, a faulty DIMM slot. It's most likely a memory ssue. Try booting on a single stick, if the same thing happens try the same stick in another slot. Rinse and repeat with multiple sticks to cull out the faulty DIMM or slot. My brother had both a DIMM of RAM and a DIMM slot both fail on his mother board in the same week a few weeks ago. Strange part is the failed DIMM wasn't in the slot the failed.

yes, there are many different kinds of NVME storage solutions that are minimal, but you need to make sure it has the right PCI-E keying. Obviously m.2 uses the "m" keying, m.2 is actually the name of the slot, NVME is the storage drive type. You need to consider how many PCI-E lanes you are willing to give up though depending on what usage the PC will have. What chipset (or motherboard if you know specifically) and CPU are you looking at?

I liked Head First Design Patterns, but I haven't read anything else by Head First.
How's their book about SQL?
>>
>>59275877
I'll answer because of digits. Of those, python is your best bet. Fast to learn, used everywhere, and so on. Java is a pile of shit, but arguably more used but will take more work to get into it. C++ is a beast, you'll need time and dedication. So do python first to get the hang of things and be able to quickly and easily do useful shit then move on from there if/when you feel like it.

Or do Ada it's a fantastic language.

HDD aren't too expensive, I would just try to find smaller ones like sata III 1-2TB Barracudas, and put them in RAID 0. There are so many on Craigslist and ebay that people bought and never used or lightly used and decided to go SSD. If you using it for smaller files you could go with caviars and save some cash.

I just looked on my local CL and found a new in box 6TB WD HDD for $50. It doesn't specify what model, but you can't beat the price!

Classes are supposed to help with who/what can access certain functions. They can also be a useful abstraction that helps the programmer sort things out but honestly that only applies to complex programs and even then its iffy if its useful.

The software you want simply doesn't exist, and it wouldn't work anyways: you can't fix hardware with software. You have a few options here:
A. the windows accessability tool that helps you to see fonts better or magnifying tool
B. UI Scaling, if you have windows 8 or 10 you can scale everything larger (you can also do this manually by turning down your display resolution.)
C. Craigslist. Get a new monitor for $10
D. Plug it in to your TV if your motherboard or video card have HDMI out.

These are the current TLDs relating to food and drink. .bar is the most expensive, but would look good. And you would almost certainly be able to get the name of your bar as a domain.

It depends on what's right for you. It's no different than .com really.

If all of those lost pictures are in the same place and you have at least one of them saved somewhere else, you want to use something to check for duplicate images. Just google Visual Similarity Duplicate Image Finder.
>>
>>59276457
The reason I asked about the registration length is because it could potentially be $64 for a three year registration, which is peanuts.

I know some hosts charge by the month, other by the year, some are 3 years, some are 5, etc.

Def go with .bar if it's anything longer than a month, if those are monthly rates, the prices probably scale down for larger registration periods (buying in bulk.) IDK how much over-head you have in for the business as is, so I can't really gauge what would be a justifiable amount for you personally. Is this a turn-key operation? Was the kitchen already setup and included with purchase? Do you already have a liquor license?

your phone's web browser may not have the correct security protocols. I would try and clear your browser's cache and cookies and try again. If that doesn't work, try a different browser, if that doesn't work then ping your router from your PC to get its IP and manually enter the IP in to your browsers address bar. You could also do a factory reset. BTW you will not be able to connect unless you are on its network, you can't do it over your phones data connection, it has to be wifi.
>>
>>59276575
I only asked because in some states it's nearly impossible to get a liquor license and they are always really expensive, even if you by one from another business and have it transferred. I know it doesn't really relate to your question, but a lot of people opening their first bar or restaurant don't know this.

According to many "unbiased" reviews I have seen, the Vapor-Chamber™ cooler on the 1080 is pretty good, the cooler tech (at least on the Founders' Edition™) is the same as the one on the Titan X (Maxwell), and that card had a higher TDP, so it should be fine. BTW, if you have a 670, is your CPU older than that?
