Maybe the talented people at wine could make it happen, and we may see DX12 games run on Windows 7/8 through wine.
I mean, they're pretty far with their DX11 support, so maybe we'll get DX12 running in 3-5 years, and then they only need to release it for windows.
I don't know if that's possible though.

Last time I checked, Wine cant run Dx10 and 11 games, unless something changed in the meantime.
But if Wine could run all of them, wouldnt it make more sense to use Linux distros, since MS plans to abandon Windows 7?
