Yes get all of your files off to HDD/SSD/cloud, destroy all partitions, reformat and fresh reinstall

The smart way would be to script all of your software installs this time, with the aim of doing this again every 6-12 months

The next step up would be to store all of your data on a SAN, and use group policy to inherit all settings, permissions and softare from your domain server when reimaging each device
