The bullshit sidebar/download shit is the ONLY thing stopping me from using Vivaldi

I know you can hide it but I don't want to deal with it at all

Once they implement an alternative It'll probably become my daily driver
>>
>>59248877
They hide the normal chromium settings, so i can't switch off the forced gpu acceleration from their gui.

Videos being wobbly.

Images not loading.

The UI being...weird, to say the least.

The only thing not degenerate in this is the tab stacking. That thing is amazing.

Page zoom doesn't persist through sub-pages

I mean holy shit.
>zoom in to 120% on /g/catalog
>zoom in to 120% after opening a thread
>open another thread
>again at 100%
Have to zoom in on every new thread time and time again
>>
>>59249190
???
just remove it and go to vivaldi://downloads
if you wanna be that austistic.

Really though guys, the biggest feature is the mouse gestures. I can't stop doing the shape to close a tab when i use other computers. It's so bloody useful.
>>
>>59252048
>mouse gestures
That's not unique to Vivaldi.
>>
Javascript UI
>>
>>59252062
that doesn't make them less useful. And neither IE nor chrome has them.
>>
>>59252028
>settings>webpages>use tab zoom

Fuck you
>>
>>59252090
>that doesn't make them less useful.
Never said that.
>And neither IE nor chrome has them.
Never said they did.
>>
>>59252090
>>59252062
No browser except opera 12 has useful mouse-gestures inbuilt, the addons avalible for chrome and firefox are slow and shitty in comparison, aswell as prone to breaking when browser updates. This is one of the features that's just better to have hardcoded by a professional team
>>
>>59252175
Opera 12 AND Vivaldi it should be*
>>
>>59252164
Then why bother pointing out that one other browser has them too?
>>
>>59252175
Yeah, Opera's the only other one I know of that has them built in but FireGestures works well.

>>59252204
Because it's not unique to Vivaldi.
>>
>>59252216
Never said it was.
>>
>>59252236
Never said you said it was, I was merely pointing out it's not.
>>
>>59252246
I think you should go.

It's not actually open source, there are more binary blobs in the _600mb_ "source package" than anything else. It's not to be trusted, especially considering all the shills on this board, like youself OP.

this guy here again, posting from Firefox 64, Vivaldi uninstalled.

God I missed you so much FF why did I ever leave?

>FF51
It has come full circle. The only reason I ever used Pale Moon or Waterfox was because I didn't know (or maybe there wasn't one) that there was a 64 bit version of FF out at the time.

Good to be back in the superior browser.
>>

>tfw the best browser is 4 years old
>>

Avant browser has gestures.
>>
>>59249427
How can I get that kind of tab usefulness on FF?
>>
>>59252444
check'd and kek'd
>>
>>59256032
Not seeing how it's any different than Chrome plus it has customization on top of that.
>>
>>59258129
It already works like that on FF.

Also you used to be able to drag tabs from Firefox to Chrome and vice versa but Chrome has since changed the tab drag action to drag the entire window and that seemed to break the cross browser tab dragging.
>>
>>59258502
Since when? I'm not seeing this.
>>
>>59249266
vivaldi://flags
>>
>>59258390
>love omniweb
>hear about new browser with thumbnail sidetabs
>sidetabs aren't in a scrollable pane, they just become more and more narrow
dropped

Also vivaldi is generally slow. It's basically a bad version of chrome with a bad UI, stupid features, bad performance and closed-source on top of it all.
>>
>>59258523
>>59258502
I'm using Firefox and only see that stupid thumbnail image when you drag.
>>
>>59258523
>>59258661
Oh, we're talking about dragging the entire window? I thought the video was about tearing tabs without having to drag all the way out of the window.
>>
>>59248877
NO SYNC
>>
>>59248877
it does actually have a fair few bugs still. Other than that, it's the best browser out there right now and I can't wait to use it again. Needs google sync too though
>>
>>59258708
Oh maybe you're right. I can see both points being accurate.
>>
>>59248877
>Chromium
>Node.js
>React.js

Did I win?
>>
>>59252655
Why would anyone care about a UI written in JS? It's literal trash.
They set themselves to fail after chosen Node.js for UI and not understanding interruptions.
>>
>>59249427
I use vivaldi, and that's the only major thing that ticks me off
>>
>>59248877
Chromium
