Alright serious question /g/uys , how does one exceed the 100 WPM barrier? I have been stuck at ~90 WPM for the good part of the previous years and I can't seem to improve. Any advice on how to type like a wizard?

Youre stupid, a musical instrument takes practice. Its all about practice
>>59250008

>>59247272
play Typing of the Dead on the hardest difficulty for a while
>tfw I only use left hand and index finger from right hand
I will never be fast

Lose some weight anon. It will make the weight lighter on your fingers. Also get blue switches. They will make you sonic af.

Set up a test program that electrocutes you if you don't improve.

wpm literally doesn't matter unless you are trying to win a wpm contest or some shit
>b-but muh coding productivilty!
good ides have shortcuts for everything so who cares
I get around 110-120 when I get back into pc for a bit. when I'm focused on other shit for awhile I drop down to 90wpm. essentially its just getting use to the way you type. i mainly use my index fingers too, i don't do that whole f and j finger placement bullshit. Its definitely slower. Also knowing how to spell is a big factor. If you have no issues spelling and using proper grammar and you're still in a rut after years of trying then there just isn't any hope for you.

To get to his level, Yngwie Malmsteen played guitar for 8-12 hours a day from age 12-18. It's all about the amount of time you sink into something. When you get to higher levels, smaller things begin to matter. The positioning of your hands could be slightly off and it would knock your speed down enough to matter.
For 10 years I used to do 50-70 WPM using the typical fingers on the home-row key typing they teach you in school. Over years and years I developer this weird method where my left hand sits on the home row keys but my right hand hovers over U-9-F10-]-Enter and I sort of use my right hand to hit all of the keys in that area. I also have very large hands so it is easy for me to reach over to the right side of the keyboard with my left hand and cover the lower keys that my right hand in a traditional method would reach.
I know it sounds crazy, but I type 100+ WPM now with this sloppy method I developed over the years. Good accuracy as well.
