yah it's been a long time, but heck my PC is 6 years old and has a 4 core. My laptop is 6 years old and has 4 threads (not actually sure on core count may be 4 core as well), My other laptop, about 3-4 years old has 4 cores. The laptop Im currently writing on is about 6 years old and has 4 cores.

AMD's AM3+ with 12 cores have been around for almost 5 years.

Other then that I should really get rid of a laptop.

So what i'm interested to know is if Ryzen on W7 is stable or at least not have random BSOD or freezes. I guess it won't use the best power states either, yet W10 is shit on that too, specially if it can't fucking manage the cores if it's not in high performance state...

The BIOS update fixed the speed, but not the latency.

The new G.Skill ryzen specific timing RAM can't even go lower than 14 CL.

Before Ryzen launched and the RAM AMD tweeted about at 3600Mhz also had a ridiculous CL of around 17 or 18.

And if Zen is anything like Bulldozer, it's a lot more sensitive CL timings then Speeds.

I'm fine with becoming outdated. My 3770k at 4.5GHz served me very well over the course of 5 years by now.
As long as it doesn't die (which I wouldn't blame it for at this point) it'll probably stay relevant until at least 2020.
Also 2c4t is more than enough for normal usage, even 2c2t would be sufficient for that.
