Here's the deal, /g/:
I own a PC that I remade myself for gaming purposes, it runs Windows 10. The CPU is an AMD eight-core that's not even five years old. I have a lot of games that I play, but when I try to play the more detailed games my computer inevitably turns off. No warning, no blue screen, it just shuts off quietly. It runs just fine if I'm browsing the internet or playing less graphics-intensive games, however.
I replaced the power supply today, as it was nearly ten years old and loaded with dust. I now have a 100-watt supply installed, leaving the oldest parts of my computer being the side and rear fans. It's running fine now, but when I tried to play vermintide, it shut off without warning and refused to restart three times, finally restarting on the fourth time, after I let it sit for a minute or two.
So my question is: what the hell is keeping my computer from playing things like Fallout 4 and Total War: Warhammer?

>100-watt
1000-watt, sorry.
Just clean the fucking cooler and replace the thermal paste, both on the CPU and the GPU (the GPU is harder to maintain but still easy)
You built it you're supposed to know this is clearly a overheating problem

I'm still kinda new to the building scene, sorry.

its a quad core

This guy is right.
I had a similar problem a while ago. I also thought it was a power supply, but a better one didn't solve the problem. Turns out, video card was getting too hot. It was old anyway so I replaced it, haven't had the problem since.
I did hand it down to someone, who had the same problem while running Total War.
