Is it under threat by gimmicks and shit? Apple clearly is with their recent follys (see touchbar macbook, Siri is still shit past the point of setting an alarm or creating a reminder etc), but will our beloved pretty macOS completely die with the mac line?

I think that with all the tech celebrities and actual MacBook Pro professional users(see: not retarded college students) shitting on the new mbp, they might actually reconsider their design decisions after releasing a product inferior to the 2015 model in every way but the trackpad.
Clearly the form factor and I/O has been rebuffed by the tech community, 2015 models are getting absurdly difficult to find while used 2016 models are flooding used retail platforms like eBay. It was an inferior release in every way that ended up costing them market share.
