Would you rather watch a boring, middle-aged pasty white guy in a white button up suit sit at a table behind the product in question for the duration of the review, with little or no movement or music to accompany the review, or have the camera move around and show the product in action in different scenarios?
MKBHD and The Verge were some of the first to make YouTube tech reviews at least a little interesting/lively and aesthetically pleasing rather than just watching some guy talk for 10 minutes. It's high-effort and shows that you really care, which I like.

2. Fiddle around with shit and commentate on it
3. Naturally prefer shit that you can screw around with more, even if it fucks up constantly
