Hello guys, I was on here last night asking for support with veracrypt, thankfully I got a few helpful answers but beyond my scope of understanding unfortunately.
:
I don't post here often, and I have searched around but cannot find any answers for this.
How do i use veracrypt for full disk encryption while running Windows 8.1 64bit. Before you start berating me for the OS, this is for a friend.
I do notice that veracrypt supports Windows 10, but does it support Windows 10 64bit? Because as I said i'm on 8.1 64, and as much as I hate windows 10, if upgrading to Windows 10 64bit will allow full disk encryption I may figure that it is worth it.
Debian GNU+Linux doesn't have this problem

Nigga please. Does Windows 10 32 bit even exist? You should worry more about Veracrypt not supporting UEFI vs BIOS.

here is the old thread:

one of the guys suggested enabling legacy boot, however he did mention that it is difficult and if done wrong I could brick my machine.

Do you have any recommendations for commercial solutions that are not crazy expensive
arch doesn't have this problem
if you want to help your friend , remove Windows
