How can I get the most out of this RCA? Is there any tweaking I should know about or is it pretty much set? Also if there are any enthusiasts out there for vhs players, is this a decent one for your viewing needs? I'm not looking for the best but is it any good since it only has analog yellow and white?

All VHS recordings look like dog shit so it doesn't really matter.

You can use head cleaners and make sure you aren't using cheap tapes.
>>
the only "mod" i can think of is to open it up and really clean the shit out of the heads with some qtips and alcohol
>>
tfw 50 gig HD-VHS tapes were a thing

But I love the sound of static and flickering on VHS tapes

Should I look up a video on this or is it easily explained?

If you can't identify tape heads and disassemble some random VHS player then you are probably developmentally disabled.

throw it away. Get a Panasonic AG-1970/1980 or a JVC HR-S7x00/S9x00 S-VHS machine. Those will get the last drop of quality from any VCR

It's cool man I just haven't done it before so I didn't want to be extra retarded and damage something.

>sound of static
>not using vhs hi-fi
actually some radio stations did use VHS Hi-Fi machines (high-end models obviously) to store up to 6 hours of programming for later broadcast

Image quality is only semi important to me but yeah man analog can still be pretty dang clear.
